Genau dann, wenn wir alle vom Winter und den grauen Tagen schon so richtig genug haben, nämlich am 15. Februar 2024 feiern wir ab 20:30 Uhr in der Roten Bar des Volkstheaters ein rauschendes Fest: das ImPulsTanz Winter Special: The Music Edition. Der zweiteilige Abend bietet eine ekstatische Konzert-Performance von Choreographin, Performerin und Sängerin Akemi Takeya mit Electric Sounds von Sebastian Bauer sowie ein lautstarkes Drum- und Keyboard-Duett von KERN & QUEHENBERGER und ein trippiges Live-Konzert der Noise-Rock-Band BULBUL. Anschließend, ab 22:00 Uhr, liefern B.Visible, H∆NN∆ x D!ZZY und Moska an den Turntables die Beats – von hypnotisierenden Klanglandschaften über HipHop bis Afrobeat.
Akemi Takeya & Sebastian Bauer
Die seit 1991 in Wien lebende Japanerin Akemi Takeya ist dem ImPulsTanz-Publikum nicht nur bestens als Choreografin und Performerin bekannt, sondern auch durch ihre einzigartige Stimme. In ihrer multidisziplinären Arbeitsweise bewegt sie sich an der Schnittstelle verschiedener Kulturen und nutzt Kontraste, um unerwartete Klänge, Bewegungen und Lyrics zu erzeugen. Sebastian Bauer arbeitet seit 2007 als freier Komponist und Sound Designer. Im Bereich Tanz und Performance hat er bereits mit einer Vielzahl von Artists zusammengearbeitet, u.a. mit Georg Blaschke, Anne Juren, Ian Kaler, Lise Lendais und Simon Mayer. Als Duo vereint das Bandprojekt mit dem Arbeitstitel BlackBoat die beiden künstlerischen Welten. Die Soundarbeit besteht aus digitalen und analogen Quellen verschiedener Einflüsse, während die Lyrics Gedanken aus Tagebüchern, Träumen und Essays als kreative Ressource schöpfen. Die Konzert-Performance integriert Körper und Geist, rationales und lyrisches Denken und jede Menge wunderbare Sounds, die sich in A-Capella-Songs, Klavierstücken und einem kurzen Trio mit KERN & QUEHENBERGER entfalten.

Sebastian Bauer has been working as a freelance composer and sound designer since 2007. In the field of dance and performance, he has already worked with a large number of artists, including Georg Blaschke, Anne Juren, Ian Kaler, Lise Lendais and Simon Mayer. As a duo, the band project with the working title BlackBoat unites the two artistic worlds. The sound work consists of digital and analogue sources of various influences, while the lyrics draw thoughts from diaries, dreams and essays as a creative resource. The concert performance integrates body and mind, rational and lyrical thinking and all kinds of wonderful sounds that unfold in a cappella songs, piano pieces and a short trio with KERN & QUEHENBERGER.
